Engineering solutions.
Building partnerships.
Serious Solutions Lab is a specialized software LLC founded by two engineers who believe great technology should be accessible to every organization, not just the enterprise.
Specialized B2B studio at the intersection of emerging technology and interactive media
We believe the best software comes from engineers who actually understand the problem. SSL was built on the conviction that technical excellence and business acumen aren’t mutually exclusive and that organizations of any size deserve access to both.
The team behind SSL
Co-Founder
Alex grew up in Parker, Colorado and now calls Tucson, Arizona home. She holds a Bachelor’s in Engineering Management and a Master’s in Systems Engineering from the University of Arizona. With extensive experience in Project and Program Management across defense and technology industries, Alex brings structured thinking and strategic clarity to every engagement. She is a Certified Scrum Master, an alumna of Tau Beta Pi, and an active member of AIAA and ASEM.
Co-Founder
Dustin grew up in Tucson, Arizona and earned his Bachelor’s in Computer Science & Computer Engineering from Montana State University. After graduating, he returned to Tucson where he has built a diverse skillset spanning software design and development, teaching, tutoring, and business development. He serves as an instructor for Game Design and Development and dedicates significant time to mentoring through non-profit organizations.
Projects we’ve been part of
Before founding SSL, our team members worked on a range of projects spanning immersive training systems, defense applications, and interactive experiences. The following highlights work we’ve contributed to individually and collaboratively, bringing the same engineering rigor and attention to detail that drives everything we do at SSL.
A fully immersive VR training system designed for operations training with military and defense applications. End users are guided through the complete operations sequence of a complex system in a realistic, risk-free virtual environment to enable skill-building before touching real equipment.
A comprehensive VR maintenance training system covering full preventative and regular maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and remove-and-replace operations. Built for military and defense end users and deployed in the field, TRVT enables high-fidelity procedural practice in a controlled virtual environment.
A procedural VR training platform showcased in a cleanroom context but built to adapt across industries and hardware platforms. Teams can practice complex assembly and maintenance procedures in risk-free simulated environments applicable to Aerospace, Energy & Utilities, Manufacturing, and more. Supports standalone VR, PC, PC/VR, and pixel streaming via web.
An experiential project exploring what’s possible when advanced visualization is integrated across the entire product development lifecycle. Starting from the first concept art, a to-scale VR model was built for customer review in headset, immediately surfacing design changes before any hardware was built. A custom tool converted video to LED matrix animation files readable by both the physical LED controller and the digital double, allowing the full experience to be visualized while Two Eighteen executed the hardware buildout. The digital-first approach reduced costly hardware rework, accelerated time to market, and improved cross-team collaboration.
